Dr. Yundong (Benedict) Geng 耿云冬 is an Associate Professor and Vice Dean at the College of Foreign Languages, Huazhong Agricultural University, and serves as Director of the MTI Education Center. His research focuses on AI-assisted digital lexicography, lexicography & language planning, and translation studies of GIAHS (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems) in China. He occupies various academic roles, including Council Member and Academic Committee Member of the 7th Council of the Chinese Association for Lexicography, Member of its 6th Bilingual Dictionary Committee, Executive Council Member and Vice Secretary-General of the Knowledge Translation Committee within the Chinese Association for Cross-Cultural Linguistics, part-time researcher at the Nanjing University interdisciplinary research base for Terminology and Translation, and Executive Council Member of the Wuhan Translators Association.

Dr. Geng has co-authored or contributed to eight academic publications and dictionaries, includingChina’s Foreign-Language Dictionaries (1978–2008): Retrospect and Reflection, Design Features of Bilingual Learners’ Dictionaries, New English-Chinese Dictionary (4th Edition), and World Canals Dictionary (Concise English-Chinese Edition). His work has been published in journals such as Lexikos, Chinese Foreign Languages 中国外语, Foreign Language Research 外语研究, and Lexicographical Studies 辞书研究. Among his awards are the First Prize for Distinguished Achievement in Philosophy and Social Sciences of Jiangsu Province (2012, 2/3), the Third Prize for Distinguished Achievement in Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education (2015, 2/3). He has successfully led over 10 funded research projects, including the Ministry of Science and Technology’s "High-End Foreign Experts Introduction Program" (2021, 2023) and a project funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (60th batch).
