She has conducted pioneering work in porcine functional genomics, such as genomics and transcriptomics of porcine muscle growth, identification of regulatory elements at whole genomewide level. Her group is doing research in the areas of genomic breeding, with a focus on the  development of statistical genetics algorithms, multi-omics knowledgebase, intelligent phenomics techniques and the applications in pig breeding as well as other livestock animals.
