Professor Qian majors in the teaching of Animal Infectious Diseases Course to Undergraduate Students and Progress in Preventive Veterinary Medicine Course to graduate Students, and the research on the Infection and Immunity o Animal Infectious Diseases.
Since 2003, participated in some projects/grants on animal infectious diseases, served as principal investigator of several grants, which came from a variety of resources including the National Program on Key Research Project of China,the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National Programs for High Technology Research and Development of China, Key Project of Chinese Ministry of Education, National Transgenic Breeding Projects and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. His current research major in animal Infectious Disease, with a focus on molecular biology and molecular pathogenisis of animal viruses, Innate immunity and antiviral research, novel-vaccines and etiology & molecular diagnostic methods for animal viral diseases. Published more than 50 research papers and obtained over 10 authorized patents in the past several years.
