Dr. Ahmed Alengebawy is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Bioenergy and Environmental Engineering at the College of Engineering, Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), where he earned his PhD in 2026 and a Master's in 2022. His research focuses on sustainable waste management and renewable energy, particularly anaerobic digestion, digestate utilization, nutrient recovery, carbon neutrality, and life-cycle assessment. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed SCI articles, contributed to 10 book chapters, and is an inventor on a 2026 Chinese patent. His work has received 4,000+ citations with an h-index of 15, with publications in journals including Environmental Chemistry Letters (IF 25.2), Journal of Cleaner Production (IF 10.7), and Bioresource Technology (IF 8.2). He contributes to the research community through editorial and peer-review activities for several leading journals. His international experience includes a visiting exchange at the University of South-Eastern Norway. He received the 2024 CSC Academic Star "Character of the Year" national award and several HZAU distinctions. He has contributed to several teaching, mentoring, and scientific training programs. He also served as Senior Advisor, Coordinator, and Vice-Coordinator at HZAU's International Students Volunteers Center. Since August 2026, he has been a member of the Children and Youth Major Group to the United Nations Environment Programme (CYMG UNEP).
