Rongbo Zhu is currently a Professor and PhD supervisor of College of Informatics, Huazhong Agricultural University. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic and Information Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively; and Ph.D. degree in communication and information systems from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2006. He then joined staff at the School of Computer Science, South-Central University for Nationalities in 2007. From August 2011 to August 2012, he was a research scholar in CNSR group at Virginia Tech, USA.
His current research interests include AIoT, Edge Computing and Big Data Intelligence, etc., and he has published more than 70 papers as the first or corresponding author. He owns 12 patents of invention, and 16 software copyrights, and published 2 monographs. In recent years, he has undertaken more than 20 projects, 6 of these are national projects including National Natural Science Foundation, National Social Science Foundation, and National Key Technology Support Program. He has been awarded 2 Second Class of The Hubei Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress, 1 Third Class Prize of The Hubei Provincial Natural Scientific Progress, 1 Third Class Prize of The Hubei Provincial Development Research Progress, 1 Third Class Prize of The National Ethnic Affairs Commission Social Scientific Progress, and 1 Third Class Prize of The Hubei Provincial Education Research. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, and a distinguished member of Chinese Computer Federation (CCF).
