I received Ph.D.,M.S. and DVM degrees from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2004, 1997 and 1991, respectively.
My current research interests are animal mucosal immunity, Diagnosis and control of avian and swine infectious diseases, and the pathogenic mechanism and genetic engineering vaccines of Riemerella Anatipestifer.
Since 2000, participated in total 35 projects/grants on animal infectious diseases, served as principal investigator of 20 grants, which came from a variety of resources including the Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program of China, Scientific Research Foundation for Returned Scholars, Ministry of Education of China,Natural Science Foundation of Hubei province. Published more than 120 papers in scientific journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS)、Microbiology Spectrum、Journal of Immunology、Journal of Bacteriology、Frontiers in Microbiology.
In the basic research of mucosal immunity, it is the first times to find that neonatal Fc receptors (FcRn) exist in the female genital tract mucosa, and the results have shown that IgG plays a very important role in genital mucosal immunity. In March 2011, the research results were published as a cover article in PNAS, and was rated as a highlight article, the paper has been cited by influential journals such as Nature medicine, Nature Reviews Microbiology, Current Opinion in Immunology, PNAS and Mucosal Immunology. It has been cited more than 170 times.
