刘元龙，副教授，硕士生导师。2015年12月毕业于华中农业大学果树学，获博士学位。2016年至2020年在华南农业大学园艺学院夏瑞教授课题组从事博士后研究，期间2016年12月至2018年1月在美国唐纳德·丹佛斯植物研究中心交流访问。2021年起在华南农业大学园艺学院工作，首聘副教授。2023年11月加入华中农业大学植物科学技术学院药用植物团队，在团队中负责开展植物源“十大楚药”、药用柑橘的有效成分合成通路及调控网络的鉴定、药用植物分子育种等研究。
