1996年7月于华中农业大学获土壤与植物营养学士学位，1996年9月至1999年7月获硕士学位，2007年 9月在职博士毕业，2008年被聘为副教授。1999年留校后一直从事土壤地理学、GIS理论与模型和耕地地力评价等方面的教学科研工作。2002在浙江大学参加教育部骨干教师培训班，2004年5-8月赴新西兰林肯大学土壤中心进行GIS与土壤养分精确管理合作研究，2007年参加中国农业信息工程中心的《3S农业综合研究》高级研讨班。2009年国家公派到美国威斯康辛大学地理系访问学习一年。
