Dr. Yingkai Xia received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2011 and 2017, respectively. He completed the post-doctor research in School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2019. From September 2018 to December 2018, he was a Visiting Scholar with School of Mechanical Engineering, in the University of Adelaide, Australia. He is currently hired as associate professor in College of Engineering, Huazhong Agricultural University. His current research interests include design of underwater vehicle, dynamic modeling and adaptive control of complex nonlinear underwater systems, ocean engineering, and aquaculture. In the past several years, he leaded or participated in many industrial projects in the field of underwater system development, such as large underwater parallel platform, remotely operated underwater vehicle, autonomous underwater vehicle, and autonomous aquaculture systems.
