Siyu Xiao, female, D.V.M., is an Associate Professor at HZAU and a licensed veterinarian in North America. Dr. Xiao graduated magna cum laude from Iowa State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and has been awarded the Certificate of Clinical Excellence (Large Animal) by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She holds Fear-Free certifications for multiple species, including small animals, horses, and pet birds. Dr. Xiao is a member of the Chinese Veterinary Medicine Association, the American Veterinary Medicine Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians. She also holds the position of Deputy Secretary-General of the Group Standards Committee of the Veterinary Equipment Branch of the CVMA and is a committee member of the Hubei Equine Industry Standardization Work Expert Group, working to promote industry development and standardization. During her time in the United States, she gained extensive clinical experience with equids and zoo animals through visiting internships and externships at various specialized equine hospitals, large animal hospitals, and zoos. She also worked as one of the co-editors of "Horse Disease" (2022).
