个人简介

王茂军,中共党员,教授、博士生导师。2007-2017年就读于华中农业大学,先后获得学士、博士学位;2018-2019年在美国农业部南方研究中心开展访学研究。面向国家重大需求——优质棉花纤维严重短缺这一产业问题,一直从事棉花纤维发育和品质形成的遗传研究,在棉花基因组演化和驯化、纤维发育和品质形成调控生物学等方面取得多个创新性成果,致力于为优质棉基因组育种提供理论基础和技术手段。以通讯或第一作者在Nature GeneticsNature PlantsGenome BiologyNucleic Acids ResearchMolecular Biology and EvolutionTrends in Plant Science等期刊发表论文30余篇,其中10篇入选期刊封面论文、ESI高被引论文或被F1000推荐,部分研究论文入选“2017年中国农业科学重大进展“2019年中国百篇最具影响国际学术论文,授权国家发明专利/软件著作权5件。获国家自然科学基金委“优青”(2019)、农业农村部青年人才项目(2023)等资助。担任BMC Biology等期刊编委、国际棉花基因组协会共同主席、中国农学会棉花分会副秘书长、湖北省青联第十四届委员会教育与社科界别副主任委员等职务。

主持国家自然科学基金、国家重点研发计划青年科学家项目、国家科技重大专项子课题、湖北省种业“揭榜怪帅”项目、中国科协青年人才托举工程等项目。获得湖北省自然科学一等奖(2/5)、神农中华农业科技奖优秀创新团队奖(5/12)、中国农学会青年科技奖、中国作物学会科学技术成就奖(青年奖)、湖北向上向善好青年等奖项或荣誉。

研究课题组立足于棉花纤维品质改良,以干实验和湿实验手段,运用基因组学、生物信息学、分子生物学、基因组编辑和人工智能等多学科手段解析棉花纤维发育和品质形成的遗传基础,揭示染色质高级结构对性状形成的调控机制,回答多倍体作物基因组演化相关的基础科学问题。
