Luo Rui, male, PhD, Associate Professor, graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2009 with a PhD in preventive veterinary medicine. In the same year, he started working at the university as a lecturer, specializing in teaching and researching animal infectious diseases. From 2015 to 2016, he was a visiting scientist at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University, Netherlands, focusing on research on the invasion mechanisms of animal coronaviruses. Currently, he is primarily using technical methods such as bioinformatics, molecular biology, and virology to conduct research on the pathogenic mechanisms, immune mechanisms, and novel vaccines for important viral infectious diseases in ducks. His research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2 projects), the Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province, and the Wuhan Applied Basic Research Program, etc. He has also been a key participant in several projects of the National Key Research and Development Program. His work has been published in prestigious journals, including Journal of Virology, Microbiology Spectrum, Frontiers in Immunology, Virulence, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, ACS Infectious Diseases, Antiviral Research, and Journal of Medical Chemistry, as corresponding author. He has also received two national invention patents and co-edited a book.
