Dr. Liao earned Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University in 2011. His teaching working includes Agricultural Machine, Modern Design Methods, Writing and Communication, Mechanical Principles. He focuses on his research in rape crop related mechanized production technology for the purpose to promote the fully mechanization of rape crop and support the crop full value chain development. Accompanied the conducted research, the applicant published more than 40 pieces of academic papers and authorized more than 10 pieces of patents as the first inventor. He also participated in 7 standards publication and developed three types of rapeseed seeders and two types of rape crop harvester which have passed the appraisal by the provincial science and technology department, as well as have been applied in 20 provinces in China. They have been selected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as the top ten leading technologies for agriculture in 2019.
As a reward for his work, Dr. Liao was given the second prize of scientific and technological progress of Hubei Province in 2011 and 2014 respectively, and the first prize of scientific and technological progress of Hubei Province in 2020, as well as selected into the Chenguang Plan of Hubei Province (2017) and awarded the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Engineering (2019).
